
Calicut: Owing to heavy rains, Air India Boeing 737 crash lands in Calicut. Casualties yet to be known.
The AI Vande Bharath flight overshoots runway and one pilot succumbs. The airplane coming to Calicut from Dubai carried over 191 passengers, out of them 170 were told to be senior citizens.
According to the authorities, the Boeing 737 has received severe damaged and incessant rains and lack of light has made the rescue operations difficult. 15 ambulances rushed to the spot.
Soon after the airplane crash landed, the cockpit was seperated from the rest of the aircraft. Mishap is due to lack of visibility. The passengers rescued are admitted to the nearby hospital.
