Supreme Court orders CBI probe into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death

Mysuru: After much debate and discussions, the Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered for a CBI investigation in alleged mysterious death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

On Wednesday, the Apex Court upheld the verdict stating that impartial investigation being the need of the hour. The court has directed the Mumbai cops to handover all the evidences and reports to the CBI. The court stated that the Bihar government was correct in filing an FIR lodged by the actor’s father and said that the government is competent with Maharashtra in the case.

The Supreme Court’s verdict came after actor’s alleged girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty had appealed to the Supreme Court seeking transfer of case lodged in Bihar to Mumbai.

#CBIforSSR hashtag was trending in the micro blogging platform Twitter for days and Sushant’s death was discussed across the globe. People from different parts of world sent their support and demanded CBI investigation to check on the foul play. His fans and movie buffs were dissatisfied with the way Maharashtra government handled his death case and demanded for CBI investigation.

On June 14, the actor was found dead at his Mumbai apartment and the Maharashtra police had alleged that it was suicide. Soon after the actor’s death, it was claimed that Rajput was depressed and this drove him to suicide. His death sparked nepotism debates naming Bollywood biggies and their callous behaviour towards the outsiders.
