Trump’s farewell speech: Claims his unprecedented gains

US President Donald Trump in his farewell message, as Joe Biden takes office as the new President of the United States, said that the new administration should be able to keep the United States safe and prosperous.

The reference was made without naming the new president, Joe Biden.Trump has made it clear that he will not attend the inauguration of the new president.

“Being able to serve as President of the United States is an indescribable honor. We did what we came for”, said Trump in the video message.

Trump claimed to have made unprecedented gains during his administration.

“The power and leadership of the country was regained within the country and abroad. In a short period of time, the country was able to develop Covid-19 vaccines and achieve energy self-sufficiency” he added.

Under his leadership, Trump claimed the US had revitalised their alliances and rallied the nations of the world to stand up to China like never before

Trump also cited tariff cuts and tax cuts in deals with China as benefits.
