Karnataka: The state government decided to permit 100% occupancy in theatres across the state, on Wednesday. The permission is granted for a period of four weeks, wherein the theatres should arrange appropriate Covid measures.
The decision was taken after state Health Minister K Sudhakar and Minister for Information and Public Relations C C Patil held a meeting with senior actors, directors, producers and others members from Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, on Wednesday in Bengaluru.
Minister K Sudhakar stated that the four week period would be a trial period. “If a spike in COVID-19 cases is observed during the period, the government may roll back the decision. Further guidelines would be released on Thursday,” he added.
Recently neighbouring state Tamil Nadu permitted 100% occupancy in theatres.
