NDRF rescues 3 month old baby in Kodagu district

Kodagu: In a miraculous turn of events, a three month old baby was rescued by the NDRF team at the Balegundi village of Kodagu.

Amidst pouring rainfall, the National Disaster Response Force personnel rescued a toddler after the landslides hit various parts of the district. Along with the kid, the NDRF team has managed to rescue two families.

Various parts of the district is receiving incessant rainfall from past one week because of which, many houses have collapsed and few have lost lives. Due to Kodagu rains, the inflow to Krishnarajasagara reservoir in Mandya has increased exponentially.

The authorities at the Central Water Commission have stated that the water level of the River Cauvery is slowly rising. River Cauvery at Napoklu in Kodagu district is rising but slowly and is within 0.6m of its highest flood levels, said the authorities, adding to that there is no immediate interval of falling levels.
