Karnataka primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar said that the new academic year in schools would begin in July and the current year will be extended till May 2021, as stated in a report by TNN.
The classes for the next academic year are likely to begin only in July in the state. The assessment except for class 10 would be done at the school level on the basis of continuous and comprehensive evaluation.
Regarding the reopening of schools for primary grades this academic year, the education minister said that it will depend on how the COVID19 technical advisory committee perceives the situation. He also said that the reopening of preschools and daycare centers this year depends on the women and child welfare department.
