The first Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station in Mysuru was inaugurated on the premises of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), in Vijayanagar, near Hinkal, on Tuesday.

Established at a cost of Rs. 8 lakh by Energy Efficiency Services Limited, a Union Ministry of Power entity, the charging station will offer free charging of vehicles for first three months.

The charging rate will be fixed as per tariff suggested by Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC), later.

Authorities concerned have informed that the station will be open 24×7. There will be different tariff for AC (slow charging) and DC (fast charging) points. Two more stations will come up shortly at Kuvempunagar and Rajendranagar.
