Mysuru to get another flyover

Mysuru: The city is all set to receive another flyover project near the Hotel Royal Inn Junction, a meeting point of Outer Ring Road and KRS Road. The road that has links to industrial areas like Hebbal, Mettagalli and connections to KRS Dam and Bengaluru road is one of the busiest roads with enormous traffic where tourists flock into the city.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha inspected the proposed stretch along with officials of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Railways and Public Works Department (PWD).

The flyover stretch begins from Brigade Apartments, opposite to Coastal Garden Hotel, extending till the District Hospital near Hotel Royal Inn Junction on the KRS Road.

Having an estimate of Rs. 41 Crore, Rs. 10 Crore will be funded by the NHAI. The rest of the funding will be jointly shared by MCC, MUDA, Railways and the PWD. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be submitted to both the Central and State governments.

As per reports, the flyover project was approved in the 2016-17 Union Budget. But the project was discarded due to technical issues.
