Rain trouble: Mysuru-Ooty road submerged in water

Mysuru: Incessant rainfalls continue to trouble parts of Mysuru district and now the Ooty-Mysuru road is water-logged following overflow of Kapila River.

Heavy downpours are lashing the cities of Wayanad and other parts of Kerala after which, the Kabini Reservoir is receiving high inflow of water. The Kabini dam is almost full and around 75,000 cusecs of water is being released at Kapila River. The Hadinarukalu Mantapa at the Nanajngud temple has submerged and now the Ooty-Mysuru road is inundated with flood water.

Despite warnings, people are still traveling on the road in motor vehicles given that there is no alternative route. The Mallana Moole Mutt road is water-lodged yet vehicles are plying. Basaveshwara temple is also submerged. If more water is released, the mutt is facing danger.

Also, the road connecting Mysuru and Suttur is also inundated. The travellers are advised to take the route through Thayur.
