Second Phase of Covid-19 vaccine dry run held in Mysuru

Mysuru: Ahead of the roll out of the Covid vaccination in the country, the second phase of dry run was conducted in Mysuru. Eight centers selected for the second phase were: KR Hospital, District Hospital, JSS Hospital, Apollo BGS Hospital, Kumbarakoppal Primary Health Centre, in Mysuru; MCH Hospital in Nanjangud; CHC Muguru in T. Narasipur taluk and Kadakola Primary Health Centre (PHC).

First phase successful

The first phase of dry run was successfully conducted at Jayanagar Urban Public Health Centre, Bilikere Primary Health Centre and K R Nagar Public Hospital in Mysuru on January 2. As part of mock drill, 25 healthcare workers took part in the vaccination at each center.

Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri said that around 32,000 corona warriors, including doctors, nurses, Asha workers and other health staff will be given priority for vaccination, followed by the public.

Process

Orientation was held prior for vaccination staff on handling and storing of vaccine, syringe, and observation of beneficiaries. The beneficiaries were intimated through SMS before the drill.

The process started checking the identity card of the beneficiary in the waiting room, followed by uploading the details in the CoWin software. After being vaccinated in the vaccination room, beneficiaries were observed for nearly 30 minutes.
